Histamin-Provokation / unspecific bronchial provocation test.
If patient don´t show any pathological results in the lung function tests during their appointment but tell of a medical history of disturbances of the airways, a well defined (harmless) bronchial irritation can detect such alterations.
To control the success of a inhalative therapy this test is also used.
It is carried out by doing repeated lung function tests before and after application of irritant substances. During the test a feeling of tightness of the chest and some hoarseness can appear for a short while.
